The natural collaboration between EU and U.S.

Last november, President Ursula von der Leyen met President John Biden in an official visit to the US, in coincidence with the award ceremony for the 2021 Distinguished Leadership Award, assigned by to the EC President by the Atalantic Council for her fierce commitment to maintaining transatlantic ties during a time of great global discord.

As President von der Leyen has stressed out during the encounter, Europe and America are in fact "natural partners", whose interests and values converge on the most crucial issues of our time, such as shaping the economic recovery, fighting climate change, reverting modern rules for the global economy and protecting democracy.

The achievement of this "natural collaboration" in EU-US research is the key objective behind the funding of EU-US teams through the NGIatlantic.eu Open Calls. The priority topics for each open call are identified according to the most relevant gaps to be addressed, thanks to the support of an External Advisory Group of experts.

Stay tuned to receive news about our upcoming open calls!

The 30-months project NGIatlantic.eu will push the Next Generation Internet a step further by providing cascade funding to EU-based researchers and innovators in carrying out Next Generation Internet related experiments in collaboration with US research teams.
